周素芬教授簡介:

周教授擁有西澳大學國際商務及營銷的MBA學位;香港浸會大學的工商管理學士。她也是國際經濟學商學會AIESEC的執行委員。


她曾在國際MBA管理學院組成的全球團隊競賽(Global Virtual Team)獲得第一名。主題是互聯網業務的商業計劃。


她在瞬息萬變的市場負責企業的商業解決方案及業務發展,並領導市場推廣隊伍,推動客戶及市場的營銷策略,以達致符合企業的戰略和目標。


她擁有超過20年於電信和IT行業的市場營銷和業務開發經驗。在她的職業生涯中,她曾在不同的大型電信運營商和IT分銷商擔任各種高層管理職務。


她強項在企業形象推廣,擅長實現品牌活動和產品發佈的正面形象,提升企業市場領導地位。建立全球合作關係,拓展國際市場。


曾經服務的企業包括:和記電訊國際、香港CSL mobile、英國大東電報局、電訊盈科環球、英邁國際(財富世界500強)。

The Aim

The objective of this course is to move students beyond the theories of contemporary management principles to the practice of management skills in a highly participatory classroom environment. The course will extend theoretical learnings from Organizational Behaviour and Human Resource Management and Labour Relations and help participants acquire practical management skills that are of immediate use in management positions.



Course Outlines

The objective of this course is to highlights the importance of Management Skills in the contemporary workplace. This course will emphasize skills acquisition as well as a more in-depth understanding of the theory behind management principles. The early part of the course will focus on defining Management Skills and clarifying their importance in the workplace. Early work will also address self-awareness and the assessment of core management skills such as stress management, time management, communication and problem-solving. As the course progresses, students will explore more advanced Management Skills such as performance management, empowerment, conflict resolution, working with teams and creating a positive environment for change.



The Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this unit a learner will be able to:

1 Understand how effective practice of Management Skills enhances not only their personal effectiveness as a manager, but contributes to the overall effectiveness of the organizations of which they are a part

2 Demonstrate improvement in their own practice of the Management Skills that are part of the curriculum

3 Understand and articulate the importance of individual contribution, and the diversity of individual approaches to the application of management skills in the workplace
